I often enjoy writing about how Microsoft can be a threat to innovation and a better desktop computing experience. Sometimes, I have to work hard to explain how Microsoft is harming every body but his time, it was pretty easy. I mean when Mozilla has to step in and protect Microsoft customers from Microsoft itself, I can’t do anything but have a good laugh. Microsoft is know for its elaborate FUD campaigns, but this time it is resorting to new terror tactics by shipping malicious code to its users.

I know, the browser market is a rough one these days. Microsoft is under attack from everywhere (I’m being sarcastic): Google attempted to give a hand to IE6 users by developing Google Chrome Frame so that they can be compatible with HTML 5. Of course, Microsoft had to use the old FUD tactic and convince users not to deploy Google’s plugin because it represented security threats. Well now, it is Mozilla’s turn to do the same by blocking Microsoft .NET plugin for Firefox. But this time, things seem to be legitimate. After all, Microsoft should be sued for pushing its .NET plugin the way it did by having it installed automatically. Also, removing it was a nightmare for those who tried it.

Oh yes, I can hear Microsoft defense stating that people agreed in the license agreement. Well I guess this is how much ethical Microsoft is willing to be.
