Kyle, thanks for an accurate description of the W7 features! I couldn't agree more. Well, there's a bunch of other 'enhancements' that you left out, but it's a representative selection. I found this article when I searched for a way to get back the old wordpad. I used that about 15 times a day, but the new one is completely useless so I've switched to notepad and only in emergencies (when I need images) use Word (at work, at home I've got better tools). Microsoft only wants a (visual) reason to charge us a fortune.

To Truthseekr; For kids who are still on their first or second OS, seven years must indeed seem like an eternity. However, the GUI has basically not changed since the first widespread graphical OS's from Apple and Commodore in the mid 80s. Introducing 'ribbons' and other features is thus a sever productivity killer for everyone over 20. New is not always better, and there is a reason we still use ancient keyboards, mice, and menu bars. On the other hand, it's good for competition that MS screws up like this, as it opens a lot of possibility for minor software firms.

No offense but I think you're just being ridiculous with this post....either that or you're probably jealous of W7.

Unless you just upgraded directly from Windows 3.1 or something, everyone know that the features you listed are NOT the biggest enhancements to this OS.
And you seem to have conveniently forgotten that it is leaner (runs better on netbooks), uses less recourses and is overall a lot stable.
Windows7 does a lot of things right that Vista messed up; and NO you can't be still stick to xp because let's face it: IT IS SEVEN YEARS OLD…which is an eternity in computing terms.

The bottom line is, everyone who ever bought a new computer within the last 3years got stuck with Vista - which actually was a crazy OS...and that alone is enough reason to upgrade.
